I have been having some trouble with Endnote X.0.2 for OSX today. Here I thought that all the bugs would have been hammered out since I first bought this package, yet lo and behold here's another.
Turns out that in the 8.0.2 update of Endnote for Windows they caught this bug and repaired it
-Locating terms with "Go To" command now scrolls automatically to each occurrence of the term.
unfortunately, in the OSX version, it still seems to not have been repaired!
One of my techniques for having all my references on hand for my dissertation writing and general exams, is to copy extended summaries of important passages into the 'notes' field of Endnote. When I want to cite a reference, I can quickly call it up in Endnote, search for the relevant passage, drag it into word, and cite it for auto bibliographic creation. At least in theory...
turns out that to find a reference in Endnote, you press "apple-F"...that brings up the reference.
Then, you doubleclick on that reference to enter it. From there, you unintuitively have to use the keystroke "apple-J" to "GO TO" the relevant term inside the reference.
Unfortunately, although the apple version will highlight the term, it won't scroll to it! So, you have to manually scroll through the enormous passage until you just happen to spot the highlighted part (or not). HUGE PROBLEM. I'm hoping for some reply from Thompson or someone on the web...I hope that they will have this fixed before May!
